Emerson Health and Rehabilitation Center is a place of caring, and that extends to our residents, patients, and staff. Martha Moreno has worked in the kitchen for several years and has become a valued and much-loved employee. When she was diagnosed with cancer, Emerson’s staff rallied around her.
Led by Martha’s supervisor, Food Services Director Eydie Hillringhouse, the Emerson staff organized a series of fundraising events to help Martha offset her medical expenses. These Fundraisers included bake sales, Wear Pink Day, and a raffle coordinated and assisted by Certified Nurse’s Assistant Denise Thomas (a 30-year employee of Emerson Health and Rehabilitation Center). Direct monetary donations from the staff were also contributed.
The enthusiasm and commitment to assisting Martha have been inspiring, and we are happy to report that her condition is improving steadily and her prognosis is good.
Wishing you all the best, Martha! You have our continued support!
